Federer Wins Again: 7-6 (9-7), 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 2-6, 6-2

That was kind of awesome. Federer was stretched to five sets for the first time in his incredible run of five straight Wimbledon titles.

I was hoping the last set would go on for a little longer, maybe 13-11 or 22-20, but that was asking for a bit too much.

It's amazing to watch a full five-set tennis match, and see all the ups and downs the two players experience. First it seemed like Federer might cruise, then it looked like he might crumble, then it looked like Nadal's knee injury might end the match prematurely, and finally Federer took control and triumphed.

I was rooting for Federer hard through out, though I do feel some sympathy for Nadal. He worked so hard in this tournament, having to play seven consecutive days. At some point in the match, he had to have thought that this was finally his year. But, it seems, it's never your year when you have to play Roger Federer on grass. The guy is too good.

Better luck next year Rafa.

If you say you weren't pulling for Rafa in the 5th set, then you're lying. How could you root for Federer? He's always touching his hair.

By the way, how about some kudos for Johny Mac and that other guy? They're one of the best broadcast combinations in sports.

This blog should change its name. "Vegan Dessert" doesn't make any sense. You're not even vegan, and this blog is not about food.

This week's sign of the apocalypse, courtesy of espn.com:

"David Lee reportedly could be one of the players the Knicks would offer in deal to acquire forward Ron Artest this summer."
